Saturday Sports Briefs: UW womens' rowing has two boats in NCAA semifinals
The University of Wisconsin women's openwight rowing team advanced two of its three boats into the semifinals of the NCAA Rowing Championships.
WINDSOR, N.J. - The University of Wisconsin openweight women's rowing team advanced two of its three boats into the semifinals of the NCAA Rowing Championships.
Heavy fog, a little rain and some strong winds in the morning turned into a sunny and warm afternoon on Lake Mercer in West Windsor, New Jersey. The varsity four qualified with a third-place finish in its heat, while the second varsity eight advanced by finishing second.

Both Wisconsin golfers competing in the Crowne Plaza Invitational are tied for 57th going into today’s third round. Jerry Kelly had an even par round Friday and is at two over for the tournament. He trails leader Jason Dufner by 13 shots. So does Pewaukee native Mark Wilson, who had his second straight one over par 71 on the Fort Worth, Texas, course Friday.
