Memorial Day Sports Briefs: UW women rowers finish 11th at NCAAs
Wisconsin Sports-- The University of Wisconsin women's openweight rowing team had its best performance Sunday, moving into an 11th place finish at the 2012 NCAA Rowing Championships in New Jersey.
LAKE WINDSOR, N.J. - The University of Wisconsin women's openweight rowing team had its best performance Sunday, moving into an 11th place finish at the 2012 NCAA Rowing Championships in New Jersey.
The crowd which braved a rainy day saw Virignia take the national championship. The varsity eight won the third final, while the varsity four finished third in the petite final. Wisconsin was fourth in the second varsity eight petite final.
Other Big Ten teams in the competitions were Michgian, which finished second, fifth-place Ohio State and 16th-place Michigan State.
