Ellsworth bloodmobile collects 76 units

Recently, a patient at a children’s hospital served by the Mid-America Blood Services Division underwent heart transplant surgery and needed 53 units of plasma, 51 units of red blood cells, 17 units of platelets and five units of cryoprecipitate.

Recently, a patient at a children’s hospital served by the Mid-America Blood Services Division underwent heart transplant surgery and needed 53 units of plasma, 51 units of red blood cells, 17 units of platelets and five units of cryoprecipitate. Because of dedicated Red Cross donors, the products were available for the patient and another life was saved.

Perhaps this life was saved by the generous gift of blood by the donors from Ellsworth. May 21 was the latest bloodmobile, when 78 people came to donate. They were:
