Prep sports resume after Memorial Day weekend

Prep sports action resumes today for Pierce County teams after the Memorial Day weekend break.

In softball, three county squad will be regional semifinal action beginning with Ellsworth playing at Bloomer in the Division 2; Prescott at Colfax in Division 3 and Elmwood at Cornell in Division 4. All these games begin at 4:30 p.m.

Regional finals for softball will be on Thursday.

In baseball, three county teams will be hosting playoff games today as Ellsworth takes on Durand in Division 2 at Brown Field in Hager City beginning at 4:30 p.m. Prescott will take on Eau Claire Regis at Firehall Field in a contest which begins at 5 p.m. and in Elmwood the Raiders play county rival Plum City in Division 4.

The regional finals for baseball will take place Wednesday and all three county teams will host if they win. Only PC will not if they beat Elmwood.

Going on today as well are sectionals in golf. Ellsworth's Chrystian Kulow is competing in the Division 2 sectional at Amery and Spring Valley's Jacob Richardson and James Hannack are competing at the Division 3 sectional in Colfax.
