Prescott wins regional title, PC falls to Alma/Pepin

Prescott High School's baseball team won it's first regional title since 2006 after blanking Elk Mound Wednesday at Firehall Field in Prescott. Plum City, on the other hand, was not as fortunate.

Prescott High School's baseball team won it's first regional title since 2006 after blanking Elk Mound Wednesday at Firehall Field in Prescott. Plum City, on the other hand, was not as fortunate.

The Blue Devils had a 6-1 lead over Alma/Pepin after three and half innings but the Eagles rallied to outscore PC 11-2 for a 12-8 win at Pepin.

The Cardinals meanwhile were led by winning pitcher Mike Lytle who struck out seven in a two-hit effort. Prescott also had nine hits led by two each for Bryan Early and Jake Hintz, who also hit a double. Logan Johnson belted a triple and both he and Hintz each had two RBIs.

No. 1 ranked Prescott will play Fall Creek in Cumberland next Tuesday in the Division 2 sectional. First pitch will be at 2 p.m.
