No one injured as storage sheds near Prescott High School start on fire

The Prescott Fire Department responded to a call of a fire in storage sheds at the Prescott Senior High School Wednesday morning at 1:05 a.m.

PRESCOTT – The Prescott Fire Department responded to a call of a fire in storage sheds at the Prescott Senior High School Wednesday morning at 1:05 a.m.

The fire was discovered by a city police officer who drove past the high school on patrol and observed the fire.

The fire was confined by two 10-by-20 storage sheds. Both sheds contained sports equipment owned by the school district and Prescott Community Recreation.

The fire contained extensive damage to one shed and minor damage to the other shed. No dollar amount has been determined.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Fire Department and the Prescott Police Department. A joint investigation is being conducted.

The sheds were located about 300 feet north of the high school building. There was no damage to the building.

Fire Chief Bill Dravis reported school was in session Wednesday and classes were not disrupted.
