GREEN BAY - The Green Bay Packers announce they have picked up safety Micah Pellerin from the Indianapolis Colts.
The team has also waived free agent wide receiver Marcus Rivers. Pellerin played his college football at Hampton University before he signed with the Colts as an undrafted free agent. The first-term All-Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference defender is six feet tall and weighs 195 pounds. Rivers was just signed by the Packers a month ago.
Florida hosts Marquette University men's basketball team in a rematch of the 2012 NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 showdown last March. The Gators won that game 68-58. The November 29th game in Gainesville will be part of the SEC-Big East Challenge next season. Each league will host a half-dozen games over three days next fall, with ESPN airing the Golden Eagle-Gator matchup. Marquette has won two of the three meetings between the two in the all-time series.
Marquette stars Jae Crowder and Darius Johnson-Odom are among the 60 players who will take part in the NBA Draft combine next week in Chicago, but Wisconsin's Jordan Taylor isn’t. The combine starts Wednesday and runs through the following Sunday. Prospects will be tested in skill areas like standing vertical jumping ability, maximum vertical leap, a lane agility drill, a modified land agility drill and a three-quarters court sprint. All teams will have scouts watching the 60 invited players perform.
