Colbenson, Campbell and EPC, Prescott relay teams place in state track

Placing for Pierce County on the final day of the WIAA State Track and Field Meet were athletes from all across of Pierce County.

LA CROSSE - Placing for Pierce County on the final day of the WIAA State Track and Field Meet were athlete from all across of Pierce County.

Spring Valley's Breanna Colbenson was a runner-up again to Hartland University Lake School's Molly Seidel in the 1600-meter run. The Notre Dame-bound Seidel finished in first in 4:54.81 while Colbenson ran a 5:04.93 time. Colbenson took third in the 800-meter run in 2:19.97 as Edgar's Elizabeth Popsyhalla won the race in 2:17.38. Her point to the Wildcat's first place total in Division 3 of 118.

Colbenson's point did however put Spring Valley in seventh place in the team standings with 22 points.

Ellsworth's Alex Campbell tied for sixth in the high jump at 6 -2 and was ninth in the long jump at 21 feet. Ben Davisson of Orfordville Parkview won the high jump at 6-6 while East Troy's Cody Zaeske, the triple jump winner, added a gold medal in the long jump to his collection, winning with a leap of 23-8.

EHS's Lydia Kuhl grabbed fifth place in the 300-meter low hurdles. Her finals time was :46.72. Maple Northwestern's Tess Nelson won in a time of :45.66. Her points plus that of Abbey Ristow's helped EHS finish 18th in the Division 2 girls' team standings with 14 points.

Elmwood/Plum City finished fourth in the 1600-meter relay. The team of Heather Von Holtum, Elania Danzinger, Becky Hartung and Sarah Gilles ran a time of 4:08.96. Edgar won this event also in 4:01.56. EPC finished the meet in 18th place with 13 points.

Prescott boys 3200-meter relay team finished seventh. The team of Cole Hauenstein, Matt Pechacek, Troy Urman and Zach Sobolewski ran a time of 8:03.67. Monroe won the event in a time of 7:50.13.

Also competing Saturday was Prescott's Victoria Simones. She finished 14th in the 1600-meter run in 5:22.68; Danzinger placed ninth in the 800 in 2:22.93; Ellsworth's Olivia Helmer was 16th in the triple jump with a leap of 32-2; EPC's 800-meter relay finished ninth in 2:19.97; Spring Valley's Conner Sieracki was 10th in the 3200-meter run in 10:17.68; SV's Tyler O'Keefe and EPC's Seth Jones finished 9-10 in the 400-meter dash with times of :52.43 and :52.83; SV's Kyle Bosshart placed 12th in the long jump with a leap of 19-7.
