Ellsworth and Prescott's baseball teams aren't too far apart in action in today's WIAA sectionals
No. 1 ranked Prescott (22-2) is in Cumberland, playing Fall Creek (14-9) in the Division 3 semifinals. No. 5 Grantsburg (22-2) is taking on Chequamegon (20-7) in the other semifinals. All four teams are number one seeds.
Just a few miles down the road in Barron, Ellsworth (17-5) also a No. 1 seed, faces fellow No. 1 seed West Salem (15-8). The other semifinal pits Somerset (16-12) against Spooner (20-3).
Both Pierce County teams play their semifinal games at 2 p.m. The finals for both sectionals are at 5 p.m. The state tournament is next week in Appleton.
