MADISON - A Madison family was eating dinner when an airborne car landed on their picnic table, killing a seven-year-old boy.
It happened just before six p.m. yesterday on private land across from Garner Park on Madison’s west side. Police said the boy’s 36-year-old mother was hospitalized in stable condition with serious injuries – and a 38-year-old man and a four-year-old girl were being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said a car driven by a 59-year-old woman left a busy roadway when it hit a small tree, and went airborne before landing on the picnic table. The car driver was not hurt, she has not been charged. The incident remains under investigation.
