Minnesota soldier gave wrong picture to producers of TV show
Minnesota News-- The fiance of a Minnesota contestant on "America's Got Talent" says he made a "mistake" when he gave the show a photograph of another soldier instead of himself.
ROCHESTER - The fiance of a Minnesota contestant on "America's Got Talent" says he made a "mistake" when he gave the show a photograph of another soldier instead of himself.
The picture that Timothy Poe submitted to the TV show was not of himself, but of another soldier who served in Afghanistan. Show producers apologized Thursday, saying the picture was given to them by Poe and used "in good faith."
Poe is under scrutiny for claiming that he was injured in Afghanistan in 2009. The Minnesota National Guard says military records don't back up those claims. And the man's ex-wife says Poe was never hurt on the battlefield -- and he also spent four years fronting a rock band in Rochester.
