POCONO, Penn. - Both Paul Menard and Matt Kenseth broke the Pocono track speed record yesterday in qualifying, but so did almost all the drivers.

Joey Logano starts on the pole today in the Pocono 400. Menard’s speed of 178-point-582 qualified his for the third starting position. Cambridge native Matt Kenseth broke the record, too, but starts 14th. Three dozen drivers and their cars bettered the mark set by Kasey Kahne.

Janesville driver Travis Kvapil missed the record by less than a half-mile an hour, yet starts 36th.
