Teenagers find medallion in East End ParkTwo teenage boys found the Cheese Curd Medallion Sunday night in the East End Park.
Mathew Normand and Michael Tumberg were looking for something to do this past weekend and decided to go hunting for the Cheese Curd Festival Medallion.
It turned out to be a good decision as the friends found it Sunday night in the East End Park.
Normand found it underneath a grill around 8:30 p.m., after about a 20-minute search.
The pair said no one else was in the park except for two adults and a child who were on the merry-go-round.
"We were excited," Normand said.
The pair said what lead them to the park were lines like "On public property you must delve," from the first clue, "You need not look high when you go for the gold" from the second clue and "No digging or climbing -- that is our oath" and "A bird's-eye view of the wall is key" from the third clue.
Tumberg, 14, and Normand, 13, will be freshman at Ellsworth High School in the fall. They both received $150.
