SAN FRANCISCO - Wisconsin golfers Steve Stricker and Mark Wilson will again try to win their first majors, as the U.S. Open begins today at the Olympic Club in San Francisco.
Wilson is scheduled to tee off at 10:21 this morning, and is partnered with Hiroyuki Fujita and Chinese amateur Andy Zhang. Stricker begins his first round at 3:36 this afternoon, paired with Ian Poulter and Matt Kuchar.
The U.S. Open is billed as the toughest test in golf, but Rory McIlroy crushed that claim a year ago when he won at Congressional by eight shots and a record 16-under-par.
