Ellsworth area cancer runners, walkers reach 25-year milestone
The 25th anniversary of the Run/Walk of Pierce County will be marked next month with a day-and-time change.By: Bill Kirk, Pierce County Herald
A lot of shoe leather has gotten worn off since one of this area’s most successful fundraisers for the American Cancer Society was started in 1988.
The 25th anniversary of the event, now billed as the Run/Walk of Pierce County, will be marked next month with a day-and-time change. Instead of the past Saturday morning schedule, this year’s version is set for Friday, July 20, with registration at 6 p.m., a kids fun walk at 7 p.m. and the run/walk itself at 7:30 p.m., followed by a special luminaria ceremony at 9:30 p.m.
The festivities will again be headquartered at the Pierce County Fairgrounds in Ellsworth.
