Baldwin-Woodville softball team back in state finals

Baldwin-Woodville prep softball team will again try for a state championship as they topped West De Pere 7-2 Thursday evening in the WIAA Division 2 State Tournament at Goodman Field.

MADISON - Baldwin-Woodville prep softball team will again try for a state championship as they topped West De Pere 7-2 Thursday evening in the WIAA Division 2 State Tournament at Goodman Field.

The Blackhawks were led in hitting by their top three batters Heidi Hinz, Shelby Weiske and Abby Klopp. Hinz went 3-for-4 with three runs scored; Wieske had two hits two runs and two RBIs while Klopp made two hits and scored twice as well.

Klopp was also the winning pitcher. She struck out 11 West De Pere batters.

B-W is now 27-1 overall and will play Monroe, 22-7 overall, in the state finals tomorrow.
