-- A 78 year old Vernon County woman has died in a house fire. Helen Boardman was pronounced dead at the scene of the fire at her home on Highway 35 in Genoa. Two dogs also died in the Friday blaze.

Western Wisconsin News-- A 78 year old Vernon County woman has died in a house fire. Helen Boardman was pronounced dead at the scene of the fire at her home on Highway 35 in Genoa. Two dogs also died in the Friday blaze.
GENOA - A 78 year old Vernon County woman has died in a house fire. Helen Boardman was pronounced dead at the scene of the fire at her home on Highway 35 in Genoa. Two dogs also died in the Friday blaze.
The Vernon County Sheriff’s office says her son, Steve Boardman, arrived home late Friday night to find the home engulfed in flames. Members of four fire departments worked together, but the home was destroyed by the fast-moving flames.
Local officials say an investigation is centered on finding the origin of the fatal fire.
