Matt Kenseth of Cambridge still leads the NASCAR Sprint Cup standings, by only four points over Dale Earnhardt, Jr. Kenseth placed third yesterday at the Quicken Loans 400 near Detroit. But Earnhardt gained six points on Kenseth by winning the race – and that ended Junior’s streak of 143 events without a victory. Earnhardt pulled away from second-place Tony Stewart near the end of the final 60-lap green flag run. And Earnhardt beat out Stewart by a dominating five-point-four seconds. The race was delayed nearly two hours by rain. Kenseth now has 565 season points, to 561 for Earnhardt. Paul Menard of Eau Claire took 22nd yesterday, and he dropped one place to 14th in the point totals. Travis Kvapil of Janesville finished 26th at Michigan International Speedway, and he held steady in the point standings at Number 31.
