Prescott wins another weekend pair of SCVL games

Prescott strengthen its hold on the St. Croix Division of the St. Croix Valley League with a pair of weekend wins.

Prescott beat Ellsworth Saturday evening at Young Field in Ellsworth 13-3 in seven innings. Adam Barta picked up another win going six innings giving up one run. The Pirates' offense was led by Nick Johnson going 4-4 with a HR and two doubles. Brian Johnson hit a solo home run as well.

Prescott went to St. Croix Falls on Sunday afternoon and edged the Bandits 8-5. Nick Johnson got the win by pitching the final six innings. Chris Terrazas has three hits including a double and two RBIs and Brady Randolph had two hits including a double.

Prescott has a big game Friday, perhaps the biggest game of the SCVL weekend schedule as they travel to Osceola on Friday. The Pirates are 7-1 in the SCVL and the Braves are 7-0.

Also last week Elmwood beat Spring Valley 9-2 Friday at Syverson Park. Pitcher Dylan DeMotts had a the complete game win. The Expos then won Sunday at Plum City as Jeff Tiffany made the game winning hit in the top of the ninth.The Expos are back over .500 in the league standings.

Other Pierce County SCVL results from last weekend has Ellsworth topping Hager City at home Friday 10-4, New Richmond clocking Plum City in NR 14-2 in seven innings Friday and Osceola beating Spring Valley 13-2 Sunday in Spring Valley.
