11th annual Cheese Curd Festival this weekend

The Ellsworth Area Chamber of Commerce, along with featured sponsor Ellsworth Cooperative Creamery, will host the area’s 11th Annual Cheese Curd Festival. The Festival will run June 22-24. A big change for the Festival this year is a change in location to East End Park, East Ellsworth.
Part of the Festival’s activities this year include the famous Cheese Curd Eating Contest, Bearded Man Voting (in conjunction with the Ellsworth Sesquicentennial celebrations), and plenty of entertainment for the kids: train rides, bounce house, pedal tractor pull, and old-fashioned kids’ games. Ellsworth Idol Karaoke, in honor of Ellsworth’s own American Idol contestant is sure to be a big hit.
“We’re excited about getting the community involved in the celebration,” said committee co-chair Raynee Farrell.
The Cheese Curd Runs (both Friday night and Saturday morning) and craft and business show will also require registrations, which can be found on the event website: www.ellsworthchamber.com/cheese-curd-festival.html.
This year’s festival brings live entertainment on Friday night, starting at 8 p.m. with the band “Stiletto.” On Saturday, the crowd will enjoy a performance from 1-3 pm from Brad Marx, and, from 4-8 pm, “Daisy and the Dukes,” the Midwest’s party country band. Following will be Twin Cities band “PointNot” from 8-12 p.m. The food and beer tent opens at 6 p.m. on Friday.
There is no admission to the festival, and the concerts are free of charge.
