The Brewers had lost five out of their last nine games by one run. Aramis Ramirez led off the 10th with his second double of the game. Nyjer Morgan pinch-ran, advancing on a wild pitch before Weeks slapped a single past third. Greinke earned his eighth win in 10 decisions when closer John Axford saved the victory, his 13th of the season.

Four days after he was released by the Atlanta Braves, veteran right-hander Livan Hernandez has a one-year deal to pitch for Milwaukee. Brewers manager Ron Roenicke says Hernandez will be used in long relief and may spot start from time to time. Hernandez is a one-time World Series hero who is in his 17th major league season. Room on the 40-man roster was made for Hernandez by designating left-hander Juan Perez for assignment. At the same time, the Brewers have reinstate shortstop Cezar Izturis from the 15-day DL and designated infield Edwin Maysonet for assignm
