Two Pierce County prep athletes could well be playing Big Ten football in the fall of 2013.
Ellsworth's Alex Campbell was reportedly offered a preferred walk-on spot at the University of Wisconsin, this after attending a recent Badger summer football camp in Madison. Campbell is a wide receiver and all-around athlete for the Panther gridders and will be entering his senior year next fall.
Another former EHS football player, Lucas Blodgett, was a also a walk-on at UW-Madison. He stayed for one season and then transferred to Bethel University in Arden Hills, Minn. where we became a standout linebacker for the Royals and helped them make the Division III playoffs.
Another soon-to-be prep senior is Prescott's Nick Jacobsen. The 6-5, 295-pound lineman has interest from 10 Division I schools, including Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan State, Indiana, Iowa State and Northern Illinois but has just one full ride scholarship offer so far, from North Dakota.
UND just announced it will joining the Big Sky Conference which is a FCS league
