-- The Minnesota Timberwolves lone pick of the NBA draft is Purdue's Robbie Hummel. He was chosen as 58th overall pick in the second round.

MINNEAPOLIS - The Minnesota Timberwolves lone pick of the NBA draft is Purdue's Robbie Hummel. He was chosen as 58th overall pick in the second round.

Minnesota traded away their first round pick to Houston for Chase Budinger and its early second round pick to Portland. The 58th pick they acquired from Oklahoma City.

Hummel was plagued by devastating anterior cruciate ligament injuries to his right knee in both 2009-10 and 2010-11, forcing him to sit out all of the latter campaign in order to rehab and prepare for a redshirt senior season in 2011-12...Also missed time in 2008-09 due to back spasms and a broken vertebra, which required him to wear a brace to close out the campaign...Led Purdue with averages of 16.4 points, 7.2 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game in his final season. He finished career ranked ninth in program history in points (1,772), fourth in rebounds (862), three-point field goals (216) and games started (120).

Hummel was given honorable mention All-American by the Associated Press in both 2010 and 2012. He was first-team All-Big Ten in 2008, 2010 and 2011.
