EAU CLAIRE - Eau Claire police say they are trying to figure out whether a 90-year old driver fell asleep, had a medical issue or was simply confused. That man drove his car onto a bike path, hitting a bicycle rider who later died.
The accident happened during the noon hour Friday. The 51-year old victim was taken to a hospital with several injuries at the time.
A police crash-reconstruction unit spent a good portion of yesterday at the site of the fatal accident.
