STEVENS POINT - He saved the cat, so he’ll keep it. An 18-year old Stevens Point man waded chest-deep into water to save the cat earlier this month. Now, Gino Bulak has formally adopted the pet.

Bulak says he spotted the cat curled up on a concrete slab just a few feet from a dam located under a highway bridge. He says the cat was nearly dead and had a noose around its neck.

The teenager took the cat to the Humane Society of Portage County where it recovered from its injuries.
