Wild looking to sign Parise, could make decision today

- New Jersey Devils winger and free agent Zach Parise could reportedly make a decision on where he will play next year as soon as today.

The 27-year-old has reportedly received offers from Pittsburgh, Minnesota, Philadelphia and Detroit. Sources say a return to the Devils has also not been ruled out.

Parise is a Twin Cities native, who played prep hockey at Shattuck-St. Mary's in Faribault and was a college hockey player at North Dakota. His father J.P. Parise had a career with the North Stars. Parise is the headlining free agent in the NHL this offseason. The Minnesota Wild are also reportedly interested in the services of top line free agent Ry

Meanwhile the Wild signed a pair of forwards over the weekend. They added Torrey Mitchell and Zenon Konopka formerly of the Sharks and Senators, respectively Mitchell signed for three seasons and Konopka was inked for two. Minnesota general manager Chuck Fletcher says the two new players add veteran depth to a roster that was hit hard by injury last season. The Wild also parted ways with Guillaume Latendresse and Mike Lundin. Both players signed with Ottawa.
