SIREN - At least two members of the Burnett County Sheriff’s Department have been fired and Sheriff Dean Roland says he expects additional disciplinary measures to be taken.
Both the district attorney’s office and the Wisconsin Division of Criminal Investigation are said to be on the case, though the DCI wouldn’t confirm that. The inappropriate behavior reportedly is connected to a department member’s alleged involvement in two domestic abuse incidents last year.
The sheriff says his department conducted its own internal investigation after the problems came to light last April. He says they were significant enough to call in the outside investigators.
