FOUNTAIN CITY - Authorities in Buffalo County have released the identity of woman who drowned in the Mississippi River near a sandbar at Belvidere Landing on Wednesday.
Witnesses say 35-year-old Tammy Lorenz was wading in the water when she either wend of a ledge or was swept under by swift current. She didn't resurface after going under.
Rescue crews recovered her body 150 yards downstream an hour-and-a-half after she disappeared.
