Tammy Kincaid announced her resignation last month as Pierce County Human Services Director.

Thursday, the wheels began in motion to find her replacement.

The Human Services Committee announced John Borup will act as Interim Director, starting July 23 to run through October 15. Borup is a former Director in St. Croix and Dunn County and served as Interim Director in Pierce before Kincaid was hired. He will work between 20-32 hours per week.

Borup and Administrative Coordinator JoAnn Miller also presented a recruitment plan they stressed as aggressive, but needed due to the importance of position. The plan, which was approved, has the recruitment period over the next two-and-a-half weeks, with interviews scheduled between Aug. 15-17. The Finance and Personnel committee will give their approval Sept. 24 with October 1 as the candidate’s first day.

Kincaid, who started in Pierce County in May 2007, resigned to become an Assistant Professor of Social Work at University of Wisconsin-River Falls. Her final day at Pierce County is Aug. 17.

“An opportunity like this doesn’t come around too often,” she said. “I really liked working for Pierce County, but I’ve been interested in teaching.” She added when she was a student, professors led her into the field of Social Work, so now, she hopes she can return the favor.
