The Kohl’s department store chain says it will keep its headquarters in Wisconsin, after reaching a new land agreement in suburban Milwaukee. Kohl’s will take ownership of 100 acres in the Woodland Prime business park in Menomonee Falls, and it will acquire a small building next to the property. Kohl’s will use the new land to build a second corporate campus. It will also keep operating from its current headquarters’ facility in Menomonee Falls. In exchange for the industrial site, the village will take ownership of a former Kohl’s distribution center. C-E-O Kevin Mansell said Kohl’s has always wanted to stay in Wisconsin – but it had to study its options, including some outside the Badger State. About three-thousand people now work at Kohl’s headquarters. The new land deal is expected to be finalized this fall.
