MINNEAPOLIS - As expected, the Portland Trail Blazers have matched the offer sheet the Minnesota Timberwolves made to restricted free agent Nicolas Batum.
The Blazers matched the offer reported to be for more than $45-million over four years hours before the Wednesday night deadline.
The Timberwolves had signed Batum to the offer sheet on Sunday. Batum averaged 13.9 points and 4.6 rebounds in 59 games last season. The Wolves now enter Plan B phase of the offseason.

The Minnesota Timberwolves are 1-1 so far in the annual NBA Summer League schedule in Las Vegas. The team is in action tonight against Cleveland. Wesley Johnson is leading the way so far for the Wolves summer team, scoring a team-high 16 points in the opening win over the Clippers and pouring in a game-high 24 points in Tuesday's loss to Charlotte. The five-game schedule wraps up this weekend.
