Sprint Cup series idle but Nationwide and truck series in action
Wisconsin Sports-- NASCAR’s top circuit is off this weekend, as the Sprint Cup drivers get ready for the Brickyard-400 a week from Sunday at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Matt Kenseth of Cambridge leads the Sprint Cup season standings with 707 points, 16 more than second-place Dale Earnhardt Junior. Paul Menard of Eau Claire is 15th, and Travis Kvapil of Janesville is 31st.
The Nationwide Series’ drivers are at Chicagoland Speedway for the STP-300 to be run on Sunday. Beloit-born Danica Patrick is entered along with Tim Schendel of Sparta. Patrick remains at Number-nine in the Nationwide point standings.
The Camping World Truck Series’ drivers are also in Joliet, Illinois for the American Ethanol-225 to be run tomorrow. Johnny Sauter of Necedah is entered. He’s 12th in the Truck Series’ standings.
