MINNEAPOLIS - Former University of Wisconsin center Greg Stiemsma is reportedly about to join the Minnesota Timberwolves. Stiemsma is a restricted free agent who spent this past season as a back-up with the Boston Celtics.

The Celts gave him a qualifying offer of just over a million-dollars in late June. Media reports say the Wolves were about to offer Stiemsma a one-year deal worth three-million-dollars. And because the Celtics are over the salary cap, they would not be able to match such an offer.

Stiemsma averaged around three points, three rebounds, and one-and-a-half blocked shots in 55 regular season games for Boston this past year.
