Homers give Red 6-2 win over Brewers

Milwaukee Brewers ace Yovani Gallardo gave up both of the roundtrippers as the Reds won for the fourth time in the six games since All-Star first baseman Joey Votto was injured. The defending National League Central Division Champion Brewers fell nine and a half games behind the Reds in the standings. Reds starter Bronson Arroyo gave up five hits and two runs in six innings to win his fifth game. Gallardo took the loss. Phillips’ home run gave him seven RBIs in his last three games.

Corey Hart had Milwaukee’s on run batted in, while a second Brewer run crossed the plate when Aramis Ramirez grounded into a double play.
