Wisconsin Sports-- In NASCAR, Danica Patrick placed 14th yesterday in the Nationwide Series’ STP 300 in Joliet, Illinois.
JOLIET, Ill. - Danica Patrick placed 14th yesterday in the Nationwide Series’ STP 300. Patrick, born in Beloit and raised in nearby Roscoe, Illinois, remains ninth in the season point standings in NASCAR’s number-two series.
Tim Schendel of Sparta placed 33rd. He only completed 28 of the 201 laps due to engine problems. Still, Schendel rose one place to 36th in the point standings. Elliott Sadler won the race, and he still leads the Nationwide Series by 11 points over Austin Dillon.
The Sprint Cup drivers had the weekend off. They’re gearing up for next Sunday’s race at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
