Eden Prairie, MN (Sports Network) - The Minnesota Vikings confirmed this past weekend longtime general manager Mike Lynn has died.

"The Minnesota Vikings are deeply saddened by the passing of Mike Lynn," the team said in a statement. "He was instrumental in the success of the Vikings for many years. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Lynn family in this difficult time."

Lynn, 76, had been living near Memphis and was reportedly in failing health, according to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune. He was GM of the Vikings from 1975 through 1990 before becoming the head of the NFL's former World League.

Single-game tickets and multi-game packages for 2012 Minnesota Vikings home games go on sale tomorrow morning. In-person ticket sales begin at 9am at the Metrodome box office and at 10am through Ticketmaster. Ticket prices will range from $39 to $143 for the third straight season. The September 9th season opener against Jacksonville and the December 30th Packers game are being sold as a two-game package. The preseason opener is August 17th versus the Bills.

A pair of former Minnesota Timberwolves will be joining new NBA teams next season. Free-agent guard Randy Foye signed a one-year deal with the Utah Jazz after spending the past two seasons with the LA Clippers. Foye was drafted number-seven overall in 2006 and traded that night from Portland to Minnesota for guard Brandon Roy. Meanwhile, ex-Wolves center Ryan Hollins inked a one-year deal with the Clippers. Hollins started last season with the Cavaliers before being sent to the Celtics. The 2006 second-rounder out of UCLA has played for the Wolves, Bobcats and Mavericks.
