RIVER FALLS -- The father accused of slashing his three young daughters' throats in River Falls, Wisconsin makes another court appearance today.
Thirty-four-year old Aaron Schaffhausen and his wife had recently divorced and on the day of the killings, the defendant showed up for a surprise visit. Prosecutors say Schaffhausen then called his wife at work and told her she could go home now because he'd killed their daughters Twin Cities psychologist Michael Thompson has never evaluated Schaffhausen but believes it was spousal revenge -- "if I can't have the kids, neither can you."
Thompson says if Schaffhausen enters into a plea agreement, we may never know the full truth behind what led to such an act.
