TO THE EDITOR: “There is nothing like a big bag of chocolates.”
When I was a 12-year-old girl, an older man frightened me more than a monster under my bed, but John O’Boyle was not just another older man. He turned out to be a hero of mine. His compassion and commitment to his clients is unreal.
As a young rape victim, I found myself in a room full of people ready to ask questions that I was not prepared to answer. John pulled out his paperwork and along with it came a bag of Lindt Truffles and Dove chocolates.
I dreaded our first visit, but shortly began to look forward to seeing John. He gave me tissues to keep my nervous hands calm. He held my hand while I walked to the stand, and of course, he brought chocolates.
John O’Boyle is a dedicated attorney who truly cares for his clients. I am proud to say he is the first Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the St. Croix County Sexual Assault Team (SART). I feel lucky to say he was my attorney and blessed to announce he is my friend.
Please re-elect John O’Boyle, a district attorney who genuinely cares about his clients.
