Sunday Sports Briefs: Green impressing many at Packers' camp so far

GREEN BAY - Just nine months after a serious knee injury, second-year running back Alex Green is turning heads in the Packers training camp.
Green’s snaps are being limited. The Packers conducted their first practice in pads Saturday. Third-year runner James Starks is the starter as it stands, but he has been slowed by injuries the last two years. There are still concerns about his ability to stay on the field for the whole season. Despite that, the Pack decided not to sign Ryan Gant as a free agent in the off-season, letting him leave. Green Bay needs a better rushing game to take some of the pressure off quarterback Aaron Rodgers and the record-setting passing attack.

For the first time, the Nationwide Series came to Indy – and Brad Keselowski leaves with the victory. Keselowski beat his teammate Sam Hornish Jr. for the win after points leader Elliott Sadler was penalized for jumping the last restart of the race at the Brickyard. Sadler wound up finishing 15th in Saturday’s Indiana 250. Beloit-born Danica Patrick finished 35th, while Tim Schendel of Sparta was 28th.
