Foote ~ Birkel engaged

ELMWOOD—Richard and Sonia Foote of Westminster, Colo., announce the engagement of their daughter, Sarah Foote, to Carter Birkel, the son of Thomas and Kathy Birkel of Elmwood.

Sarah earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a degree in finance from Drake University in Des Moines. She is employed as the Manager, Paralympic Finance, for the United States Olympic Committee in Colorado Springs, Colo.

Carter earned a Doctor of Pharmacy and Masters in Business Administration from Drake University in Des Moines. He is employed as an Executive Team Lead, Pharmacy, in Colorado Springs.

Carter and Sarah will be married on Sept. 8, 2012, at Spruce Mountain Guest Ranch in Larkspur, Colo.
