Brothers who’ve traveled world will lead parade

EL PASO—Forty-eight years of owning a sugar bush, forty-three countries visited during world travels and 31 years of work in the computer industry.

That’s the tally for the lives of a pair who’ve been named as grand marshals of the El Paso Days parade on Sunday, Aug. 19, part of the community’s annual celebration the same weekend. It all comes down to two: twin brothers Melvin and Marvin Janisch.

“We had to be talked into it,” said Marvin, who was main spokesman Thursday for the twins, chowing down on near-identical plates of ribs at the El Paso Bar and Grill as they waited to learn instructions about their parade roles.
