Projects in the Towns of Diamond Bluff and Trenton proposed by Fairmount Minerals—Wisconsin Industrial Sand Company have cleared the county level and apparently will proceed.
Pierce County Land Management Director Andy Pichotta said Friday the land management committee approved a sand mine operation in the Town of Diamond Bluff earlier this week.
“It was approved with a lot of conditions,” Pichotta said, later putting the number of those conditions at 26 and indicating they’re in response to concerns raised by attendees at the committee’s meeting Wednesday.
Conditions were actually already in place, which committee members had hoped would satisfy those with concerns, the director said. These were now “tweaked,” he explained.
