ST. LOUIS - St. Louis Cardinal rookie Joe Kelly has started nine games in the big leagues and has yet to allow more than three runs. He did give up 10 hits in less than six innings Friday night, but pitched St. Louis to a 9-3 win over the Milwaukee Brewers.
That snapped a three-game winning streak for the Brewers. Milwaukee had jumped out to a 3-0 lead, but St. Louis then scored the next nine runs to take the win. The Cards benefitted from four Milwaukee errors and a bullpen that pitched three and a third scoreless innings.
Kelly actually knocked in the winning run, capping a four-run rally in the fourth against losing pitcher Randy Wolf. Cardinal catcher Yadier Molina pounded three hits and raised his average to .315. He also stole two bases.
