High school sports season begins Monday
A new school year of high school athletics begins Monday for local Pierce County schools.

Ellsworth and Prescott's girls' golf teams have their first respective practices of the season on Monday. The following day practice starts for county football teams at Ellsworth, Prescott, Spring Valley and the new Elmwood/Plum City co-op squad.
Also on Tuesday is the first practice for the Ellsworth High School girls tennis team.
Practice for volleyball and cross country start the following week.
Ellsworth's girls golf team host the first athletic competition of the 2012-13 school year. The Panthers will host a Middle Border Conference meet Aug. 13 at 9 a.m. at the Ellsworth Country Club.
