AKRON - Steve Stricker of Madison tied for second place at the World Golf Championships' Bridgestone Invitational.
Stricker fired a six-under-par 64 yesterday, his best round of the tournament. And he finished the 72 holes at 12-under-268, one stroke behind winner Keegan Bradley. Jim Furyk led wire-to-wire until the final hole, when he landed in a greenside bunker and got a double-bogey. Bradley went into the same bunker. But he made a 16-foot putt to save par and win the tournament.
Pewaukee native Mark Wilson tied for 45th. He shot a one-under-par 69 in his fourth-and-final round, and closed out at five-over-285. Bradley will now defend his PGA Championship title from a year ago. The season's final major begins Thursday on Kiawah Island in South Carolina.
