Smokey the Bear
”Smokey the Bear” greeted people attending National Night Out in Ellsworth’s East End Park Tuesday. The special guest was given a ride to the site by the Ellsworth Fire Department. “Smokey” and the EFD were on hand to remind the public about being careful with fire, especially to let them know “only you can prevent forest fires.” Displays by organizations were part of the event organized by the Ellsworth Police Department, a chance for neighbors to get acquainted in the interest of crime prevention.
