Beautiful weather could mean big crowds Saturday at the Pierce County Fair
It couldn't have been timed any better. Avoiding the baking temperatures and dead air humidities of July, the 129th Pierce County Fair finds itself perfectly situated in an Hudson Bay high pressure system this weekend.
It couldn't have been timed any better. Avoiding the baking temperatures and dead air humidities of July, the 129th Pierce County Fair finds itself perfectly situated in an Hudson Bay high pressure system this Saturday.
Such beautiful weather with partly sunny skies and cool breezes from the northwest is a good way to draw big crowds to the fairgrounds in Ellsworth and if Thursday and Friday were any indication, you'd better get to the fair as soon as possible to be able to park inside the grounds.
This will be especially true for the fair's biggest draw, the Ellsworth Funsters Demolition Derby this evening. The derby will look to pack the grandstands again with 3,000 fairgoers at 7 p.m. Ticket prices for adults are $8 while children six and under are $5.
Other events for Saturday include junior horse and dairy judging starting at 8 a.m., the Little Dairyman Show at the Arena Barn at 11 a.m. Throughout the day there will be an interactive game show called "Win It In A Minute", a rabbit agility demonstration along with the Horse vs. Horsepower contest in the Horse Arena.
The music tribute revue "Divas by the Decades" will also provide evening entertainment starting at 7:30 p.m. in the Picnic Shelter.
Tomorrow's weather forecast does not look as promising as rain and cloudy skies are predicted
