New EPC team has successful first week of practice

As first weeks of practice go for a new ballclub made up of once rival prep football programs, Elmwood/Plum City's was as good if not better than expected. And it was not by accident.

ELMWOOD - As first weeks of practice go for a new ballclub made up of once rival prep football programs, Elmwood/Plum City's was as good if not better than expected. And it was not by accident.

"We did our homework just as the kids do by researching and talking to other coaches and administrators of schools districts which have co-op football teams," EPC head coach Jerry Hannack said. "We dealt with a lot of concerns, potential problems and basic tasks which come up when you are putting together a co-op squad ahead of time so that they did not come up during the first week. That allowed us to put our focus on bringing together a new team on the field."

But Hannack is aware the transition phase is not over yet and perhaps won't be over until the first season of the new EPC squad is completed. And he's also well aware winning will go a long way to making the transition as smooth as possible.
