This is primary election day in Minnesota and political observers are closely watching the races in the 8th and 1st Congressional Districts.
Democrat-Farm Laborers Rick Nolan, Taryl Clark and Jeff Anderson are competing for a spot on the November ballot to challenge incumbent Republican Chip Cravaack in northeastern Minnesota. Meanwhile, Republicans Mike Parry and Al Quist are vying to challenge incumbent DFL Congressman Tim Walz in southern Minnesota.
There are also a number of contested legislative primaries across the state. The polls are open until 8 p.m. today.
