County golfers compete at NR Invitational

NEW RICHMOND - Prescott High School's girls golf team had one of its best showings in a large, 18-hole tournament in many seasons as the Cardinals were eighth in the 14-team New Richmond Invitational Wednesday.

NEW RICHMOND - Prescott High School's girls golf team had one of its best showings in a large, 18-hole tournament in many seasons as the Cardinals were eighth in the 14-team New Richmond Invitational Wednesday.

The Cardinals shot a 452, tying Somerset for eighth. Ellsworth shot a 510 for 13th place. The host Tigers won the meet with a score of 354.

Megan Westerberg shot a 100 to lead PHS and teammate Katie Filkins finished with a score of 103 on the New Richmond Golf Course.

Ellsworth's Aubrey Langer finished 14th individually with a score of 96.

Both of Pierce County's girls' golf teams were be in Amery for a Middle Border Conference meet Tuesday.
